06 basic requirements for participants in prevention and control of COVID-19 in Vietnam

On September 3, 2021, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 7317/BYT-MT on safety guidelines for forces participating in the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic at commune level.

According to the Official Dispatch, participants in the prevention and control of COVID-19 at the commune level in Vietnam must meet the following 06 basic requirements:

(1) The individual is physically and mentally healthy. People with underlying and chronic diseases (liver disease, kidney disease, cancer, diabetes, intravenous injections, ..); pregnant women, nursing children under 24 months old are not allowed to participate.

(2) The individual has not been in close contact with a case of COVID-19 or has been in close contact with a person who has been in close contact with a case of COVID-19; there are no symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and so on.

(3) The individual has received the entire COVID-19 vaccine dose or has recovered from COVID-19.

(4) The individual is tested for SARS-CoV-2 before the mission (for up to 72 hours), weekly during participation, and after the task is completed.

(5) The individual is informed before participating in the assignment about the risk of infection, preventive measures and instructions on how to use personal protective equipment as required at work sites in Vietnam.

(6) The individual is provided with information about the epidemic situation, regulations on epidemic prevention and control in the locality and related information.
