05 Units Receiving Specimens from Individuals Suspected of nCoV Infection

Recently, the Ministry of Health issued Official Dispatch 519/BYT-KCB providing guidance on organizing the reception, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with acute respiratory infections caused by nCoV.

According to Official Dispatch 519, medical examination and treatment facilities shall collect, transport, and preserve specimens suspected of nCoV infection in accordance with the Ministry of Health's guidelines for monitoring and preventing acute respiratory disease caused by the new strain of the Coronavirus and send them to the following units:

- The Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology's laboratory shall receive specimens sent from provinces in the Northern region;- The Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City's laboratory shall receive specimens sent from provinces in the Southern region and the Central Highlands;- The Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology's laboratory shall receive specimens sent from provinces in the Central Highlands;- The Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang's laboratory shall receive specimens sent from provinces in the Central region;- Other laboratories as permitted by the Ministry of Health.
