03 cases exempted from emission inspection and testing for new imported cars in Vietnam

According to Clause 2 Article 2 of the Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, exemption from inspection and testing of emissions and continue to carry out inspection and certification procedures in the following 03 cases:

- Vehicles that have been issued with a certificate of factory quality inspection (cars manufactured or assembled domestically) or vehicles that have been granted certificates of technical safety and environmental protection for imported motor vehicles (imported vehicles) before the application of this Regulation;

- Vehicles issued with the factory quality inspection certificate (vehicle manufactured and assembled domestically) after the application of this Regulation on the basis of the corresponding type certificate issued before the time of application of this Regulation but still valid;

- Types of vehicles manufactured or assembled from base vehicles that have been granted certificates of quality, technical safety and environmental protection before the application of this Regulation or new types of vehicles certified from vehicles establishments mentioned at Points a and b of this Clause.

For vehicle types or engines that have been tested for gas emissions and issued test reports in accordance with QCVN 86:2015/BGTVT, they can continue to use the issued test reports to carry out inspection and certification. according to the provisions of the relevant legal documents.
