02 groups of subjects entitled to the 3rd phase of electricity price reduction in Vietnam

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Dispatch 3163/BCT-DTDL on the support of electricity price reduction for customers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic phase 3.

According to the Official Dispatch, only the following 2 groups of subjects will be supported with electricity price reduction in phase 3:

- Tourist accommodation establishments according to the provisions of Vietnam's Law on Tourism 2017 and relevant legal documents.

- Facilities for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control do not collect fees, buy electricity from the Electricity Corporation/Electricity Company under the Vietnam Electricity Group and electricity retailers.

Previously, Official Dispatch 9764/BCT-DTDL dated December 18, 2020 stipulates guidelines for the implementation of the 2nd phase of electricity price reduction. Eligible subjects for electricity price reduction include customers using electricity for daily life from level 1 to level 1. level 4 according to Decision 648/QD-BCT dated 20/3/2019.

Thus, in this 3rd phase of electricity price reduction, only tourist accommodation establishments and establishments serving the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic that do not collect fees will be able to reduce electricity and electricity bills. Customers who use electricity on a daily basis are not eligible for electricity price reductions.

The support period for the third phase of electricity price reduction is 7 months from the June 2021 to December 2021 electricity bill period.
