Urgently bring Vietnamese people in Ukraine home

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has agreed to the Ministry of Transport to organize flights to bring Vietnamese people in Ukraine and their family members home on March 7 and 9, 2022.

Urgently carry out necessary procedures to organize the prompt and timely return of citizens to the country

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to settle the budget for flights according to regulations.

The Ministry of Health guides the control and prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic during the implementation of the plan to welcome people home.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministry of Transport (the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam) in expeditiously carrying out necessary procedures to organize the prompt and timely repatriation of citizens; provide a list of Vietnamese citizens evacuated to their home country so that airlines can arrange resources to serve and organize flights as planned.

* Regarding the situation of citizen protection in Ukraine, according to the Vietnamese representative agencies in Ukraine and neighboring countries, as of 5:00 p.m. on March 6, the representative agencies had welcomed more than 2500 Vietnamese people. Evacuated from the war zone in Ukraine.

Including more than 1700 people from Ukraine to evacuate in Poland; 290 people in Hungary; about 600 people in Romania; more than 40 people in Slovakia.

Vietnamese representative missions have supported the necessary procedures and documents for people from Ukraine to enter and transit through and coordinate with local authorities and local Vietnamese associations to welcome and arrange means of transport, accommodation, temporary accommodation and essential supplies for people.

Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating with relevant ministries, branches, agencies and airlines to prepare for 02 flights to bring Vietnamese people and family members home on March 7, 2022 from Romania. and 9/3/2022 from Poland.

Specifically, on March 7, 2022: Flight VN88 of Vietnam National Airlines (Vietnam Airlines) is expected to carry 283 citizens departing from Bucharest (Romania) and landing at Noi Bai airport at noon on the same day. March 8, 2022.

On March 9, 2022, flight number QH9066 of Bamboo Airways is expected to carry 270 citizens departing from Warsaw (Poland) and landing at Noi Bai airport on the morning of March 10, 2022.
