Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Health to issue an official notice on whether or not the Omicron detection test kit is available and publicize the information on the mass media.

The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Newspaper on January 5, 2022 has the following content: "Rapidly selling "Omicron detection test kits" as follows: "Many associations and groups on social networking sites have recently continuously advertised sells test kits that are said to be able to detect the Omicron variant. According to medical experts, in order to determine what type of mutation a case belongs to, it is necessary to go through a very complicated gene sequencing process. There is currently no commercially available test kit to test for the Omicron variant.”

Regarding this, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Health to issue an official notice on whether or not the Omicron detection test kit is available and publicize the information on the mass media.
