Private high schools enjoy preferential tax and credit policies

Private high schools are allocated land or leased out by the State; budget support when performing tasks assigned by the State; enjoy tax, credit and other preferential policies as prescribed by law.

Students of a private high school have the rights and duties as stipulated in the charter of the high school; enjoy regimes and policies according to the State's regulations

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular 40/2021/TT-BGDĐT on the Regulations on organization and operation of elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools and high schools with many levels of education. private type.

According to the Circular, a private high school is a general education institution under the national education system, invested by a domestic investor or a foreign investor, and ensuring operating conditions, and approved by the State agency. competent country to permit the establishment and operation of education.

Sources of investment in construction of facilities and operating costs of private high schools are sources outside the state budget. A private high school has its own legal status, its own account and seal.

A private high school has the same duties and powers as a public high school as prescribed in the elementary school charter; Charters of junior high schools, high schools and high schools with many levels of education (collectively referred to as the Charter of high schools) and the provisions of this Regulation.

The organizational structure of a private high school includes: School Council; Control Board; principals and vice principals; emulation and commendation council; disciplinary council; advice council; organization of the Communist Party of Vietnam; trade union organization; organize the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; organize the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team; specialized groups; office team; class; organizations serving special education activities of specialized schools and other necessary activities according to the requirements and tasks of private high schools.

Additional study time is not more than 4 weeks/school year

Regarding educational programs, the Circular clearly states that private high schools implement the general education program according to the provisions of law.

The private high school shall implement the time-planning framework for the school year in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; for the lower secondary and upper secondary levels, the study time may be supplemented for no more than 4 weeks per school year compared to the public high schools, but no additional tuition fees will be charged for the additional study period.

Teachers, administrators, and staff of a private high school must meet the standards of training and professional standards prescribed by the Law on Education, the charter of the high school and other regulations of the Government. law.

This Circular takes effect from February 14, 2022.
