Incoming people with enough vaccines are only isolated at home for 3 days

On December 16, 2021, the Ministry of Health issued Official Letter 10688/BYT-MT on COVID-19 prevention and control for people on entry. Accordingly, people who have received the full dose of vaccine or have recovered from COVID-19 must be isolated at home for 3 days, and those who have not been vaccinated or have not been vaccinated for 7 days.

According to this Official Letter, by the end of December 15, 2021, the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 in Vietnam has reached a high level (the rate of people aged 18 and over receiving 1 dose of injection is 96.4% and full 2 ​​injections is 76.5%).

According to the direction of the Prime Minister, by December 31, 2021, to basically complete 100% of vaccinations for people aged 18 and over, and at the same time speed up the vaccination schedule for children. em.

Accordingly, the requirements for COVID-19 prevention and control for each specific case are as follows:

*For those entering the country who have had a full dose of vaccine or have recovered from COVID-19:

- In the first 3 days from the date of entry, the person on entry will self-monitor their health at the place of residence (including houses, hotels, motels, resorts, headquarters of representative missions, dormitories, etc.) guest houses of production and business establishments, ...); Not allowed to come into contact with people around, not to leave the accommodation.

- Test for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR method on the 3rd day from the date of entry. If the test results are negative for SARS-CoV-2, continue to monitor health until the end of 14 days from the date of entry; In case the test result is positive, it will be handled according to regulations.

*For people entering the country who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of COVID-19 vaccine:

- Isolation at the place of residence for 7 days from the date of entry.

At the same time, test for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR method on day 3 and day 7. If the test result is negative for SARS-CoV-2, continue to monitor health until the end of 14 days. If the test result is positive, then handle according to regulations.

- For those entering the country under 18 years of age, people aged 65 or older, pregnant women, and people with underlying medical conditions, they are isolated with their parents/carers (hereinafter referred to as caregivers).

The caregiver must have had a full dose of COVID-19 vaccine or recovered from COVID-19 and must sign a commitment to voluntarily self-isolate after being explained about the risks of COVID-19 infection; must strictly comply with the requirements of testing and regulations like those on entry.

General requirements for epidemic prevention and control for people on entry

- Having negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 before entry (except for children under 2 years old).

- Make medical declaration before entry; When entering Vietnam, you must install and use the PC-COVID medical declaration application to make medical declarations and monitor health according to Vietnam's regulations (for guests entering for diplomatic or official purposes). use is recommended).

- In case the entry is a Vietnamese citizen, overseas Vietnamese and relatives (including spouse, children) who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of COVID-19 vaccine, vaccination will be performed. COVID-19 vaccine (free of charge) during quarantine (if eligible).

- For delegations entering Vietnam at the invitation of senior leaders; comply with the project of welcoming the delegation.

- Paying for testing costs, medical isolation, medical examination and treatment and other related expenses (if any) in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic as prescribed in  Resolution 16/NQ- CP  dated 08/02/2021.

Note:

Time to apply measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic for people on entry according to Official Letter 10688/BYT-MT from January 1, 2022.

This Official Letter does not apply to those who have entered the country and are in isolation and medical monitoring as prescribed before December 16, 2021.
