On January 26, 2022, the Ministry of Health issued Official Letter 433/BYT-MT to the ministries and People's Committees of provinces and cities, proposing to create favorable conditions for people to enter Vietnam on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2022.

According to the Ministry of Health, currently, vaccination against COVID-19 in the provinces and cities has reached a high rate: people aged 18 years and over have been given 1 dose of nearly 100%, with 2 injections of 95, reaching 95. 6%, injection 3 reached 18.6%; children (12-17 years old) with the 1st injection achieved 94.1%, with 2 full injections achieved 82.2%.

Therefore, in order to create favorable conditions for people to enter Vietnam on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2022 and ensure the prevention and control of epidemics, the Ministry of Health proposes ministries and People's Committees of provinces and cities. directly under the Central Government continue to direct the implementation of the contents specified in Official Letter 10688/BYT-MT dated December 16, 2021 of the Ministry of Health on the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic for people on entry.

Along with that, guiding and creating favorable conditions for people to enter Vietnam on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2022 ; In which, instructions on measures to prevent and control the epidemic include:

- Implementation of 5K;

- Make a medical declaration before entry and immediately upon arrival at the place of stay;

- If you have symptoms of suspected COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc., limit contact and travel, and immediately notify the local health department for instructions and testing for SARS-COV. -2 and handle according to regulations.

General requirements for epidemic prevention and control for people on entry

- Having negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 before entry (except for children under 2 years old).

- Make medical declaration before entry; When entering Vietnam, you must install and use a medical declaration application (PC-COVID) to make medical declarations and monitor health according to Vietnam's regulations (for guests entering for diplomatic purposes, public service is recommended to use).

- In case the entry is a Vietnamese citizen, overseas Vietnamese and relatives (including spouse, children) who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of COVID-19 vaccine, vaccination will be performed. COVID-19 vaccine (free of charge) during quarantine (if eligible).

- For delegations entering Vietnam at the invitation of senior leaders: follow the scheme to welcome the delegation.

- Paying costs of testing, medical isolation, medical examination and treatment and other related expenses (if any) in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic as prescribed in Resolution  16/NQ- CP  dated February 8, 2021 of the Government on the cost of medical isolation, medical examination and treatment and some specific regimes in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
