In Decision 150/QD-TTg dated January 28, 2022 approving the Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, with a goal that by 2050, Vietnam will become a become the leading agricultural country in the world.

Specifically, by 2050, Vietnam will become one of the leading agricultural countries in the world with a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly agricultural product processing industry.

Along with that, the countryside will no longer have poor households and become a "worth-living place", civilized, green, clean and beautiful with living conditions, income of rural residents close to and closely connected, in harmony with urban areas. town.

In addition, the Prime Minister also set a number of goals by 2030 as follows:

- The whole country has at least 90% of communes meeting the new rural standards, of which 50% of the communes meet the newly enhanced rural standards;

More than 70% of district-level units have met new rural standards, of which 35% of district-level units have been recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards.

- GDP growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fishery reaches an average of 2.5-3%/year, the growth rate of labor productivity in agriculture, forestry and fishery reaches an average of 5.5-6%/year.

- Expand and develop markets, especially export markets. The growth rate of the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reaches an average of 5-6%/year.

- Increase people's income, reduce poverty sustainably. The income of rural residents is 2.5-3 times higher than that of 2020. The rate of multidimensionally poor households in rural areas decreases by 1-1.5%/year on average.

- The proportion of agricultural laborers in the total social labor drops to less than 20%, the rate of trained agricultural workers reaches over 70%.

- Develop green, environmentally friendly agriculture, adapt to climate change, reduce rural environmental pollution, strive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10% compared to 2020;

The forest cover rate is stable at 42%, the forest area certified for sustainable forest management is over 1 million ha. To increase the area of ​​marine and coastal conservation zones to 3-5% of the natural area of ​​the national sea area.

Decision 150/QD-TTg takes effect from January 28, 2022.
