From 3pm on March 21, 2022, RON 95 gasoline decreased by 630 VND/liter, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 650 VND/liter. This is the first price drop since the beginning of the year after 6 consecutive increases.

According to Official Letter 1403/BCT-TTTN dated March 21, 2022, the selling prices of petroleum products are regulated by petrol and oil wholesalers and petrol distributors after 3 p.m. on March 21, 2022 as follows: :
- E5RON92 gasoline: not higher than 28,330 VND/liter (reduced by 655 VND/liter compared to the current price);
- RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 29,192 VND/liter (down 632 VND/liter compared to the current retail price);
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 23,633 VND/liter (decreased by 1,635 VND/liter compared to the current retail price);
- Kerosene: not higher than 22,245 VND/liter (down 1,673 VND/liter compared to the current retail price);
- Fuel oil 180CST 3.5S: not higher than 20,423 VND/kg (down 564 VND/kg compared to current selling price).
The Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to set up the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund:
- E5RON92 gasoline: 200 VND/liter;
- RON95 gasoline: 50 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil: 400 VND/liter;
- Kerosene: 300 VND/liter;
- Oil of madut: 0 VND/kg.
In addition, expenditures for using the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund:
- E5RON92 gasoline: 0 VND/liter;
- RON95 gasoline: 0 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil: 0 VND/liter;
- Kerosene: 0 VND/liter;
- Oil of madut: 0 VND/kg.
