Specifically, people who have had enough basic dose with mRNA vaccine (vaccine manufactured by Pfizer or Moderna) can receive booster dose with vaccine manufactured by Astrazeneca, the injection time is at least 03 months after the last dose. same of the basal dose.

The Ministry of Health requests the Departments of Health of the provinces and cities to advise the Presidents of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities to decide on the subjects of injection in accordance with the actual situation and requirements for epidemic prevention and control in the locality, develop plan and prepare necessary conditions for the implementation of vaccination against COVID-19, ensuring safety, effectiveness and science.

At the same time, the Department of Health, the Ministry of Public Security and the Military Medical Department, the General Department of Logistics and the Ministry of National Defense are requested to advise the leaders of the ministries of their units to decide on suitable injection subjects; develop a plan and prepare necessary conditions for the implementation of vaccination against COVID-19, ensuring safety, effectiveness and science.

The Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the Pasteur Institute provide guidance and technical support to localities in the implementation of vaccination.

In addition, continue to implement other contents as directed in Official Letter 10722/BYT-DP dated December 17, 2021 and Official Letter 508/BYT-DP dated January 28, 2022 of the Ministry of Health on vaccination. Basic and booster doses for COVID-19 prevention.

Currently, the Ministry of Health stipulates the basic and booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine in  Official Letter 10722/BYT-DP  dated December 17, 2021 and  Official Letter 508/BYT-DP  dated January 28/ 2022 as follows:

- Persons who have received the full basic dose with Sinopharm's vaccine or Sputnik V vaccine can receive an additional dose of the same type as the basic dose or mRNA vaccine.

For those who receive the basic dose of Sinopharm vaccine, they can also get an additional dose of Astrazeneca vaccine.

The interval between 1 additional injection after the last dose of the basic dose is from 28 days to 3 months.

- Persons who have received basic or additional injections of the same type of vaccine shall receive a booster dose of the same type or mRNA vaccine; if previously vaccinated with different vaccines, give booster dose with mRNA vaccine. 

If the basic or additional dose is a vaccine from Sinopharm, a booster shot of the same type or an mRNA vaccine or a viral vector vaccine (AstraZeneca vaccine) can be given.

One booster dose at least 3 months after the last dose of the basic dose.

Note: For the dose of vaccine manufactured by Moderna : A booster dose, the dose is 0.25ml (1/2 basic dose) for those who have received 2 previous doses of vaccine with any vaccine. .
