Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the statutory pay rate for 2021 will remain at 1.49 million VND/month. So, which groups of Vietnamese officials and public employees will be affected when the applicable statutory pay rate in 2021 is not increased?
On June 28, 2023, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular 41/2023/TT-BQP guiding the implementation of statutory pay rates for individuals receiving salaries or rank allowances from the state budget in agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam.
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the statutory pay rate in 2021 will not increase and will remain at 1.49 million VND per month. However, Vietnamese officials and public employees are still entitled to pay rise when retaining the statutory pay rate in 2021
The Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam has issued Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV to guide the calculation of salary and allowances for officials according to the new statutory pay rate starting from July 1, 2024.
Recently, Vietnam Social Security has issued guidance on the collection of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational accident and disease insurance based on the statutory pay rate of VND 2.34 million/month.
On July 05, 2024, the Minister of Home Affairs (Hanoi, Vietnam) promulgated Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV providing guidance on the implementation of statutory pay rate for individuals receiving salaries, allowances in agencies, organizations, public service providers of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and associations.
