Early research on strict control mechanisms for imported goods through e-commerce in Vietnam is specified in the Prime Minister's Directive 29/CT-TTg on August 27, 2024, regarding boosting demand, supporting production and business, and developing the domestic market.

Early research on strict control mechanisms for imported goods through e-commerce in Vietnam

Regarding specific tasks in boosting demand, supporting production, business, and domestic market development, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requires the Ministry of Industry and Trade to cooperate with the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam to conduct early research and develop mechanisms for strict control of imported goods through e-commerce, which is currently exerting significant pressure on domestically produced goods, affecting the consumption of local businesses' products.

In addition to the aforementioned task, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam also needs to perform other tasks in boosting demand, supporting production, business, and domestic market development, as follows:

- Promote the implementation of solutions to link production with the distribution of goods, strengthen linkages in the value chain of goods in conjunction with effectively implementing regulations on quality and food safety, and form value chains of purely Vietnamese products.

Continue to vigorously implement activities connecting supply and demand for goods, in order to boost the consumption of domestically produced goods in both traditional and modern distribution channels; strongly promote the implementation of proposals and target programs for the development of commerce and the domestic market as approved.

- Organize promotion programs at regional and national levels, cooperate with localities to enhance supply and demand connections, and distribute OCOP products, bringing goods to remote areas, industrial zones to stimulate domestic consumption.

- Encourage e-commerce platforms operating in Vietnam to implement programs to consume products and goods produced in the country. Launch a movement to consume Vietnamese goods, and local products through models of Vietnamese booths, and Vietnamese products on e-commerce platforms.

Organize activities to promote regional linkages in e-commerce, and activities to promote cross-border e-commerce with countries in the region, and major import markets….
