From January 01, 2025, the auction winner of license plate in Vietnam shall exercise their rights and obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Law on road traffic order and safety 2024.
The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam is currently drafting a Circular stipulating the levels of collection, collection policies, payment, and management of registration fees and vehicle license plate issuance.
According to the Draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 15/2014/TT-BCA dated April 04, 2014, stipulating vehicle registration, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has added more than 50 symbols on license plates for foreign organizations and individuals in Vietnam. To be specific:
Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA stipulates that vehicles operating in transport business in Vietnam must change their current license plates to the plates with yellow background before December 31, 2021. Currently, there are still many vehicles operating in transport business that have not changed to yellow plates. By the end of 2021, what are the penalties for vehicles operating in transport business that do not change their current license plates to the plates with yellow background in Vietnam?
How are Vietnam’s current regulations on license plates for each type of vehicle such as automobiles, motorcycles, vehicles of domestic/foreign offices and organizations, etc.? This is the question of Mr. Pham Nhat Quang in Ho Chi Minh City sent to LawNet on May 21, 2020 for answer.
