BUILDING AND DEVELOPING THE COLLECTIONS OF DISTRICT-LEVEL LIBRARIES

This is one of the responsibilities when conducting District-level Library activities as stipulated in Circular 13/2016/TT-BVHTTDL issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on December 09, 2016.

The construction and development of the library's material assets at the district level are regulated by Circular 13, encompassing the following activities:

- Developing and submitting to the managing agency a plan to supplement the material assets from budget sources suitable to the level and needs of the public, with the characteristics and development requirements of the local economy, culture, and society; organizing a survey of the needs of users in the area to construct an appropriate supplementation plan;- Supplementing material assets through purchasing, exchanging, receiving donations from publishers, distribution agencies, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the country following legal regulations; accepting circulating materials from the provincial library and other libraries in the area;- Applying information technology in library work, cooperating with competent units to organize the transformation of local specific materials following legal regulations;- Collecting, supplementing, participating in, and coordinating with libraries at all levels in building and developing local geographical material assets.
