Repeal of Certain Technical Standards at the Workplace from July 01, 2017

The Ministry of Health has just signed and promulgated Circular 25/2017/TT-BYT officially abolishing several legal normative documents related to national technical regulations at the workplace. Specifically, they are:

- Circular 29/2016/TT-BYT stipulates the national technical standards for ionizing radiation - Exposure dose limits for ionizing radiation at the workplace (QCVN 29/2016/BYT);

This standard applies to state environmental management agencies; individuals and organizations conducting occupational environmental monitoring; individuals and organizations engaged in activities that generate ionizing radiation at the workplace.

- Circular 30/2016/TT-BYT stipulates the national technical standards for X-ray radiation - Exposure dose limits for X-ray radiation at the workplace (QCVN 30/2016/BYT).

This standard applies to state environmental management agencies; individuals and organizations conducting occupational environmental monitoring; individuals and organizations engaged in activities that generate X-ray radiation at the workplace.

Additionally, the Standards of Sanitation and Welfare Facilities, the Standards of X-ray Radiation - Gender, and the Standards of Radiation in the Occupational Sanitation Standards issued together with Decision 3733/2002/QD-BYT dated October 10, 2002, are also repealed.

These are 3 out of 21 occupational sanitation standards applied to entities employing labor. Specifically:

- The Standards of Sanitation and Welfare Facilities are standards applied at sanitation facilities and common service facilities serving workers at employing entities, including: Latrines; Urinals; Shower rooms; Menstrual sanitation rooms; Hand washing faucets; Emergency clean water faucets; Clothes storage; Drinking water.- The Standards of X-ray Radiation are standards applied at medical X-ray facilities using X-ray machines for diagnosis and treatment.- The Radiation Standards are standards applied to individuals working directly and indirectly with types of ionizing radiation.

Circular 25/2017/TT-BYT comes into effect from July 1, 2017.
