DRAFT LABOR CODE 2019 HAS BEEN APPROVED
The National Assembly has unanimously decided that the retirement age for employees under normal working conditions will be adjusted according to a schedule until it reaches 62 years old for male employees by 2028 and 60 years old for female employees by 2035.
Starting from 2021, the retirement age for employees under normal working conditions is 60 years and 3 months for male employees and 55 years and 4 months for female employees; thereafter, it will increase by 3 months each year for male employees and 4 months each year for female employees.
For employees with reduced working capacity; those working in extremely heavy, hazardous, or dangerous occupations and jobs; those working in difficult socio-economic regions, it is possible to retire at a lower age but not more than 5 years earlier than the stipulated time, unless otherwise stipulated by law. Additionally, highly skilled technical workers and some special cases can retire at a higher age but not more than 5 years later than the stipulated time, unless otherwise stipulated by law.
Thus, from 2021, each year the retirement age will increase by 3 months for male teachers and 4 months for female teachers until it reaches 62 years old for males in 2028 and 60 years old for females in 2035.
