This is a newly stipulated content in the Labor Code 2019 that was recently passed by the National Assembly of Vietnam on November 20, 2019, and officially took effect on January 1, 2021.

To be specific, Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 specifically stipulates holidays and Tet as follows:
1. Employees are entitled to fully paid leave on the following public holidays and Tet:
a) New Year’s Day: 01 day (January 01 of the Gregorian calendar);
b) Lunar New Year: 05 days;
c) Victory Day: 01 day (April 30 of the Gregorian calendar);
d) International Labor Day: 01 day (May 01 of the Gregorian calendar);
đ) National Day: 02 days (September 02 of the Gregorian calendar and 01 day immediately before or after);
e) Hung Kings Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
Thus, according to the new regulations in Labor Code 2019, from January 01, 2021, employees will be entitled to an additional 01 day off for National Day 02/9 (immediately before or after September 02 of the Gregorian calendar). From 2021, employees will have a total of 11 public holidays and Tet holidays annually (under the current regulations, employees are only entitled to 01 day off for National Day, totaling 10 public holidays and Tet holidays annually).
