Circular 26/2017/TT-BLDTBXH issued on September 20, 2017 stipulates and guides the implementation of policies on mandatory occupational accident insurance and occupational disease insurance in Vietnam.

The Circular stipulating the formula for calculating occupational accident and disease allowances in Vietnam includes:
1. Formula for calculating the one-time occupational accident and disease allowance for employees who are assessed to have a reduced labor capacity in Vietnam as follows:
| One-time allowance level | = | Allowance calculated according to the reduced labor capacity | + | Allowance calculated according to the number of years contributing to the insurance fund for occupational accident and disease allowances |
| = | {5 x Lmin+(m-5)x0.5x Lmin} | + | {0.5 x L + (t-1)x0.3xL} |
Where:
- Lmin: Statutory pay rate at the time of entitlement;
- m: Reduced labor capacity (absolute value 5 ≤ m ≤ 30);
- L: Salary contributed to the insurance fund for occupational accident and disease allowances;
- t: total number of years contributing to the insurance fund for occupational accident and disease allowances.
2. Formula for calculating the monthly occupational accident and disease allowance in Vietnam as follows:

Where:
- Lmin: Statutory pay rate at the time of entitlement;
- m: Reduced labor capacity (absolute value 31 ≤ m ≤ 100);
- L: Salary contributed to the insurance fund for occupational accident and disease allowances;
- t: total number of years contributing to the insurance fund for occupational accident and disease allowances.
Circular 26/2017/TT-BLDTBXH takes effect from December 1, 2017.
