The Government of Vietnam has officially passed Decree 148/2018/ND-CP on amending and supplementing Decree 05/2015/ND-CP on guiding the Labor Code. To be specific:

- Amending regulations on the person who enters into labor contracts;- Amending content of labor contracts;- Amending regulations on labor contracts with elderly employees;- Adding regulations on changes in structure, technology, and economic reasons;- Amending regulations on the time calculation for severance pay and job loss allowance;- Abolishing the regulation that employers are responsible for fully paying severance or job loss allowances to employees. Instead, adding new regulations on the deadline for employers and employees to settle benefits upon termination of labor contracts;- Amending and supplementing regulations on wages used as the basis to pay employees during work suspension, annual leave, holidays, Tet holidays, personal leave with pay, salary advances, and salary deductions;- Amending the procedure for handling labor discipline;- Amending regulations on dismissal discipline for employees who voluntarily quit their jobs.
