Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 157/2018/ND-CP stipulating the regional minimum wage for employees working under labor contracts. Notably, in this Decree, there is an adjustment to the localities applying the regional minimum wage for the year 2019.
The National Wage Council has finalized the plan for a 7.3% salary increase in 2017 compared to 2016. Subsequently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs submitted a draft Decree stipulating regional minimum wages for 2017.
Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 157/2018/ND-CP stipulating the region-based minimum wages for employees working under contracts, attached with the appendix of region-based minimum wages applied at localities across the country from January 1, 2019.
The Vietnam National Wage Council has agreed to increase the region-based minimum wages by 5.3% in 2019. Specifically, Increased amounts in region-based minimum wages are 200,000 VND for Region I; 180,000 VND for Region II; and 160,000 VND for Region III and Region IV.
On December 20, 2016, the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party issued Directive No. 11-CT/TW regarding the organization of the 2017 Tet festival. In this directive, it is strictly prohibited to give Tet gifts to superiors in any form, and localities are requested not to conduct fireworks displays during the Tet holiday.
Decree 141/2017/ND-CP stipulating the region-based minimum wages in 2018 has been officially issued by the Government of Vietnam recently. Lawnet provides the system of region-based minimum wage tables for 2018 to members, especially enterprises employing employees. To be specific:

According to the projections, the region-based minimum wages for employees will be increased by VND 180,000-250,000/month. This is the content of the draft Decree stipulating the region-based minimum wages for employees working in enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative unions, partnerships, farms, households, individuals and agencies, and organizations that employ employees under employment contracts in Vietnam.
From August 1, 2016, Decree 55/2016/ND-CP adjusts the pension, loss of working capacity allowance, monthly allowance, and benefits for preschool teachers who worked before 1995, to take effect.
