Vietnam: To expect 03 more centrally affiliated cities (Artwork)

Pursuant to the Decision No. 445/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister of Vietnam approved the adjustment of orientations of the master plan on development of Vietnam's urban system to 2025 with a vision to 2050:

- Bac Ninh province.

- Thua Thien Hue province according to Resolution 54-NQ/TW on construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

- Khanh Hoa province according to Conclusion 53-KL/TW dated December 24, 2012 on construction and development of Khanh Hoa province to 2020 and vision to 2030.

In addition, according to the List of urban centers implementing national urban classification in the period 2021 - 2030 issued together with Decision 241, in Hanoi,  the districts: Hoai Duc, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Thanh Tri, Dan Phuong are planned to become urban districts.

Also in Vietnam's Decision 241/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requested the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally affiliated cities to implement the following contents:

- Promptly organize the review and implementation of urban classification in the province/city to meet the provisions of the law on urban classification and the National urban classification plan for the period of 2021 - 2030.

- For urban areas that have been newly established or undergone the merger of urban administrative divisions, it is necessary to review and adjust the urban planning, urban development programs, urban development investment to ensure urban classification criteria; review the classification for urban quality control.

- Research and integrate the plan for urban classification in the period of 2021 - 2030 in the province/city into the provincial planning, urban development program of the whole province. For administrative divisions that plan to continue the merger for the period of 2019 - 2021 and period of 2022 - 2030, it must ensure the conformity of the urban development master plan and program, and the actual requirements and local economic efficiency.

Relevant ministries and agencies:  Within the ambit of their functions and tasks, coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-affiliated cities in organizing the effective implementation of the National urban classification plan in the period of 2021 - 2030.
