Vietnam: Support 160,000 VND/day for people in concentrated isolation for 5 days of Tet

Below is the remarkable content specified in Resolution 17/NQ-CP on paying allowances and benefits for covid-19 management in 5 lunar new year days of 2021, effective from February 9, 2021 in Vietnam.

According to Vietnam's Resolution 17/NQ-CP, the state budget supports the meal allowance of 160,000 VND/person/day, which applies to the following subjects:

(1) Individuals working in concentrated medical quarantine areas (does not apply to quarantine at home, or residence), classifying, adopting procedures for persons making entry, protecting medical quarantine areas in residential areas as designated by regulatory agencies, conducting disease management affairs in posts along trails in border areas; medical personnel working around the clock at medical quarantine facilities to care and treat people infected or suspected to have been infected with COVID-19. 

(2) Individuals enforced with mandatory medical quarantine in camps, schools of the military; medical establishments, schools, etc. which are decided to be turned to concentrated quarantine zones by competent authority (does not apply to quarantine at homes, hotels, resorts, enterprises).

In addition to policies that are currently being guaranteed, apply allowances of VND 200,000/person/day for forces working in epidemic management missions in posts along trails in border areas (border guard forces affiliated to Ministry of National Defense, police forces, militia and self-defense forces), forces working in concentrated medical quarantine zones of Ministry of National Defense.

Note: Benefits and allowances for beneficiaries above shall be implemented in 5 days of Lunar New Year of 2021.

Minister of National Defense, Chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces and central-affiliated cities shall utilize state budget for epidemic management or legal funding sources within their decentralization to pay for the allowances.
