Vietnam: In 2021, the multidimensional poverty line will continue to be implemented as in 2020

This is a notable contents of the Decree No. 07/2021/NĐ-CP prescribing regulations on multi-dimensional poverty line for the period of 2021 - 2025, effective from March 15, 2021.

According to Article 2 of the Decree No. 07/2021/NĐ-CP of the Vietnam Government, from January 1, 2021, continue to implement the multi-dimensional poverty line for the period 2016 - 2020 according to the Decision No. 59/2015/QD-TTg dated November 19, 2015 of the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

Urban area

Poor household

- Having a monthly per capita income of VND 700,000 or less; or

- Having a monthly per capita income of VND 700,000 - VND 1,000,000 and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

- Having a monthly per capita income of VND 900,000 or less; or

- Having a monthly per capita income of VND 900,000 - VND 1,300,000 and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Near-poor household

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 700,000 - VND 1,000,000 and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 900,000 - VND 1,300,000 and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Average living-standard household

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 1,000,000 - VND 1,500,000.

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 1,300,000 - VND 1,950,000.

Besides, according to Article 3 of the Decree No. 07/2021/NĐ-CP of the Vietnam Government, regulations on multi-dimensional poverty line in the period of 2022 - 2025 will have a change compared to 2021, specifically:

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 1,500,000 or less and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 2,000,000 or less and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Near-poor household

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 1,500,000 or less and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 2,000,000 or less and lacking at least 3 indicators measuring the level of lack of access to basic social services.

Average living-standard household

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 1,500,000 - VND 2,250,000.

Having a monthly per capita income of VND 2,000,000 - VND 3,000,000.
