Vietnam: Allowance for healthcare personnel and employees participating in the prevention and control of COVID-19

1. Support amount of VND 300,000 per day

According to Resolution No. 37/NQ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, the allowance for epidemic prevention is set at VND 300,000 per day, including weekends and holidays, applicable to:

- Individuals involved in monitoring, investigating, and verifying epidemics.

- Direct healthcare providers involved in examining, diagnosing, and treating individuals with infectious diseases at medical facilities.

2. Support amount of VND 200,000 per day

The allowance for epidemic prevention is set at VND 200,000 per day, including weekends and holidays, applicable to:

- Individuals involved in transporting patients and medical specimens; preserving the bodies of deceased patients; laundering clothes for doctors and patients; collecting bottles, vials, and chemical containers; protecting quarantine areas; cleaning, disinfecting, and eliminating disease-causing agents within medical facilities for quarantine and treatment.

- Healthcare personnel performing epidemiological surveillance and health monitoring at home-based medical quarantine facilities and designated medical quarantine facilities as instructed by state management agencies.

3. Support amount of VND 150,000 per day

The allowance for epidemic prevention is set at VND 150,000 per day, including weekends and holidays, applicable to:

- Individuals performing non-medical tasks at centralized quarantine facilities (excluding home quarantine, accommodation, hotels, resorts, and businesses).

- Individuals participating in forced medical quarantine for cases that require quarantine but do not comply with medical quarantine measures.

- Interpreters, emergency medical teams (115), transportation teams for quarantined individuals.

4. Lower support levels

For individuals participating in round-the-clock epidemic prevention duty: The allowance for round-the-clock epidemic prevention duty is VND 130,000 per day, including weekends and holidays. Furthermore, these individuals will receive meal support of VND 80,000 per shift.

For healthcare personnel, military, and police officers performing duties at centralized medical quarantine facilities (excluding home quarantine, accommodation, hotels, resorts, and businesses); individuals involved in immigration procedures and routing for incoming individuals; individuals guarding residential quarantine areas as assigned by state management agencies; healthcare personnel on round-the-clock duty at medical quarantine facilities for the care and treatment of individuals with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, meal support is set at VND 80,000 per day.

For collaborators and volunteers participating in epidemic prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic, the training support is set at VND 130,000 per day for direct or coordinated participation in epidemic prevention activities, and VND 80,000 per day for direct participation in propaganda, mobilization, distribution of leaflets, or participation in simulations.

Notably, the above provisions are applicable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Other regulations not specified in this Resolution shall be implemented according to the existing laws and regulations.
