To allow operation of cinemas, restaurants, and religious establishments in Ho Chi Minh City from March 1, 2021

Recently, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Official Dispatch 549/UBND-VX on continuing the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control work in Ho Chi Minh City.

To allow operation of cinemas, restaurants, and religious establishments in Ho Chi Minh City from March 1, 2021 (Illustration).

From the time of returning to work after Tet, the city has basically controlled the COVID-19 epidemic situation, but there are still many potential risks because the city is a trading and working place for many people. Therefore, the City People's Committee requested to take the following actions:

- Continue to apply 5K measures, especially the mandatory wearing of masks in public places, hand washing and disinfecting, ensuring personal hygiene;

- The following areas will continue to close until further notice, including: dance halls, bars, karaoke, pubs, beer clubs, sports facilities in enclosed spaces (gym, fitness, billiards) , yoga,...

- The fields not mentioned above are allowed to operate again and must fully comply with epidemic prevention and control measures as prescribed by the health sector for the following fields: tourism activities; transportation; food service businesses; safety at wholesale markets, traditional markets (with cage houses), supermarkets, and commercial centers; activities of museums and monuments; library, reading room, and practice organization of sports and physical training units.

Note: All activities must ensure a distance of at least 1 meter between two people. Food service businesses must not serve more than 30 people at the same time.

- In particular, religious activities and ceremonies at religious, belief, and worship establishments may be organized but not gather more than 50 people at a time and ensure compliance with other epidemic prevention and control measures. According to the regulations of the health industry, especially for wearing masks, washing hands and disinfecting, ensuring the distance between two people is at least 1 meter.

This notice is effective from March 1, 2021, until further notice.
