Responsibilities of families in prevention and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam

Prevention and control of narcotic substances are responsibilities of not only the State, but also society, families and each individual. What are responsibilities of families in prevention and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam?


Responsibilities of families in prevention and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam

1. Responsibilities of families in prevention and control of narcotic substances in Vietnam

Pursuant to Article 6 of Vietnam's Law on Prevention and Control of Narcotic Substances in 2021 stipulating responsibilities of individuals and families as follows: 

- Raise the awareness of family members of the harm of narcotic substances and manage and prevent family members from committing violations against regulations of Law on Prevention and Control of Narcotic Substances.

- Properly follow indications for use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic drugs, precursor drugs and veterinary drugs containing narcotic substances or precursors from competent persons.

- Cooperate with competent authorities in fighting against crime and social evils related to narcotic substances
Support rehabilitation activities, assist persons having completed rehabilitation with integrating into society; and prevent relapse.

- Promptly provide information on crime and social evils related to narcotic substances and growing of plants containing narcotic substances for the police or competent authorities

2. Responsibilities of families that have drug addicts in Vietnam

Pursuant to Article 42 of Vietnam's Law on Prevention and Control of Narcotic Substances in 2021 stipulating responsibilities of families that have drug addicts as follows

- Responsibilities of families of drug addicts as follows: 

+ Support drug addicts during rehabilitation, after rehabilitation and in integration into society;

+ Cooperate with competent authorities and persons in formulating documents for imposition of compulsory rehabilitation;

Cooperate with bodies in supporting drug addicts during rehabilitation, in post-rehabilitation management and in integration into society.

- Responsibilities of communities where drug addicts reside as follows:

+ Provide drug addicts with encouragement and support;

+ Cooperate with relevant regulatory bodies, organizations and units in supporting drug addicts during rehabilitation, in post-rehabilitation management and in integration into society.

Thus, the family plays an important role in narcotic substances prevention and control, which support each individual a lot in their educational propaganda activities to each individual.
