Policy to Support the People of Ho Chi Minh City During and After the Covid-19 Pandemic

Recently, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Plan 1455/KH-UBND regarding the support for businesses during and after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic from now until December 31, 2020.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a plan to support enterprises during and after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic from now until December 31, 2020, which includes contents to support reducing living expenses for residents. To be specific:

-Electricity costs: Assign the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation to propose and implement policies to reduce electricity prices for residents in the city area based on the approval of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

-Water costs: Assign the Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) to continue implementing policies to reduce water prices for low-income workers; simultaneously propose and advise on the set of criteria to guide the reduction of water prices for production units and business-service units in the area.

-On taking care of worker’s life: Assign the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs to lead and coordinate with the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones (Hepza), the Management Board of the Hi-Tech Park, and the People's Committee of 24 districts to survey, evaluate, and build a set of criteria to guide worker support for those who lost their jobs in the area due to the pandemic; coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, People's Committee of 24 districts to implement policies to support workers in the pandemic situation according to the Government of Vietnam's policy and the city People's Committee.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigns the People's Committee of 24 districts to conduct surveys and resolve policies for workers facing difficulties due to job loss from the support resources of the Central Government, the City, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Implementation period: from now until the end of 2020.
