Lunar New Year 2021: Increase the level of gift giving to those with meritorious services to the revolution of Vietnam

Specifically, according to the Decision No. 07/QĐ-CTN of the President of Vietnam, the gift giving to those who have contributed to the revolution on the occasion of the Tan Suu New Year 2021 is specified as follows:

(1) Gift level of VND 600,000

People receive gifts include:

- People who were active in the revolution before January 1, 1945 are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance;

- People who were active in the revolution from January 1, 1945 to the date of the August insurrection, are enjoying a monthly preferential allowance;

- Vietnamese Heroic Mother is enjoying monthly preferential allowance;

- People's Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes in the resistance period are enjoying monthly preferential allowances;

- War invalids and policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, class B war invalids, sick soldiers with a working capacity decrease of 81% or more are enjoying monthly preferential allowances;

- Resistance activists who are infected with toxic chemicals and have a working capacity decrease of 81% or more are enjoying monthly preferential allowances;

- People with meritorious services to the revolution are receiving a monthly maintenance allowance.

- The martyr's relatives are enjoying the monthly survivorship allowance; relatives of two or more martyrs are enjoying a monthly survivorship allowance.

(2) Gift level of VND 300,000

People receive gifts include:

- War invalids and policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, class B war invalids, sick soldiers with a working capacity decrease of 80% or less are enjoying monthly preferential allowances; war invalids are enjoying the regime of loss of working capacity;

- Resistance activists who are infected with toxic chemicals and have working capacity decrease of 80% or less are enjoying monthly preferential allowances;

- People who engage in revolutionary or resistance activities who are imprisoned or exiled by the enemy are enjoying monthly preferential allowances;

- People with meritorious services to the revolution are enjoying monthly preferential allowances.

- Representative of the martyr's relatives.

- Martyr worshipers (in case the martyr has no relatives).

In comparison with the regulations in 2020, according to the Decision No. 2422/QĐ-CTN, the amount of gift giving to those who have contributed to the revolution is divided in 2 levels that are VND 400,000 and VND 200,000.

Thus, it can be seen that the Tet gift giving rate will be increased 1.5 times for subjects with meritorious services to the revolution compared to 2020. Therefore, in the Tan Suu Lunar New Year 2021, people with meritorious services to the revolution shall receive gifts of 2 levels: VND 600,000 and VND 300,000.
