The National Election Council is tasked with organizing the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly; directing and guiding the election of deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in accordance with the law; cooperate with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Government of Vietnam, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and relevant agencies and organizations to perform the assigned tasks.

The National Election Council's office is located at the National Assembly house, with seals, operating funds, and an assisting apparatus as stipulated by law.
