The amended Law on Fisheries was voted and approved by the National Assembly on the afternoon of November 21, 2017, with 89% of deputies in favor.
In the afternoon of November 21, 2017, with the final voting content of the session on the Law on Fisheries (amended), under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Phung Quoc Hien, the National Assembly heard Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the National Assembly Phan Xuan Dung present the Report on explanation, acquisition, and revision of the draft Law on Fisheries (amended). Subsequently, the National Assembly voted to pass Articles 6, 7, and the full text of the Law on Fisheries (amended).
Voting Results are specifically as follows:
On state policies in fisheries activities (Article 6):
- Number of National Assembly Deputies (NADs) participating in the vote: 441, accounting for 89.82% of the total NADs.- Number of NADs in favor: 440, accounting for 89.61%.- Number of NADs not in favor: 1, accounting for 0.2%.- Number of NADs not voting: 0.
On Article 7 - prohibited acts in fisheries activities:
- Number of NADs participating in the vote: 442, accounting for 90.02% of the total NADs.- Number of NADs in favor: 440, accounting for 89.61%.- Number of NADs not in favor: 0.- Number of NADs not voting: 2, accounting for 0.41%.
On the full text of the Law on Fisheries (amended):
- Number of NADs participating in the vote: 441, accounting for 89.82% of the total NADs.- Number of NADs in favor: 437, accounting for 89%.- Number of NADs not in favor: 3, accounting for 0.61%.- Number of NADs not voting: 1, accounting for 0.2%.
Thus, the Law on Fisheries (amended) has been passed by the National Assembly with 89% of deputies in favor.
