Latest directives from Prime Minister of Vietnam on COVID-19 prevention and control

Recently, the Government Office issued Notice 26/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Prime Minister of Vietnam - Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Government Standing meeting on Covid-19 prevention and control.

The latest directive of the Prime Minister of Vietnam on the prevention and control of COVID-19

After listening to the report of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the opinions of the Deputy Prime Ministers and delegates attending the meeting, the Prime Minister of Vietnam has the following comments:

(1) The Prime Minister of Vietnam highly appreciated and praised the health sector and localities, especially Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Gia Lai, and others, for promptly applying many strong, total, synchronous, drastic, and creative measures to prevent and control the epidemic. Up to now, despite continuing to record new cases in the community, the outbreaks have basically been controlled in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh.

(2) The appearance of new outbreaks in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi shows that the risk of disease is at a high level. The Prime Minister requested the entire political system, party committees, and authorities at all levels of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to focus on directing the drastic implementation of zoning, isolation, tracing, and testing on a large scale and quickly control the epidemic, so as not to spread widely in the community.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi City shall decide according to his/her competence the application of social distancing and blockade measures according to Vietnam's Directive 15/CT-TTg dated March 27, 2020 or Directive 15/CT-TTg dated March 27, 2020 or Directive 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister of Vietnam corresponding to the risk of disease spread for some specific areas in the locality.

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam directs the immediate establishment of a front-line command post for epidemic prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City; focus on directing and supporting Ho Chi Minh City to control the outbreak soon.

(3) Presidents of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities:

- Step up direction to implement the 5K requirement. First of all, wear masks; do not gather in crowds; strictly handle violations.

- Limiting to the maximum extent the gathering of many people at funerals, festivals, religious ceremonies, year-end parties, and weddings; fireworks stop on New Year's Eve.

- Mobilizing to minimize travel during the Lunar New Year, mobilizing businesses, production and business establishments, and employees to organize work during Tet, live on-site activities, ...

- Review and prepare all necessary resources (human resources, supplies, biological products, tools, vehicles, including field hospitals), ready for epidemic situations; even the worst can happen; pay attention to solving regimes and policies; take practical measures to promptly mobilize forces directly preventing and combating the epidemic, especially during the Lunar New Year.

- Urban areas, especially big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Phong, are allowed to proactively decide on strong measures to prevent and control the epidemic; carefully prepare according to possible scenarios; and be ready for the situation where there are a lot of people getting sick. The localities currently experiencing epidemics must strengthen their direction of strict implementation of measures to control the disease in the best way.

- Direct the implementation of concentrated isolation for 14 days.

(4) The Ministry of Health of Vietnam continues to focus on directing the implementation of large-scale testing of people in high-risk areas, regularly updating and communicating with local epidemic prevention and control steering committees, and promptly supporting and assisting localities in epidemic prevention and control when necessary.

(5) Relevant ministries and local People's Committees shall direct the production and supply to prevent shortages of supplies, biological products for epidemic prevention and control, and goods for human service. people. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City prepare to stockpile necessary goods to ensure people's lives and activities in the context of epidemics.

(6) Functional forces such as the police, army, and market management have strengthened measures to ensure security and order to prevent bad situations from happening due to new developments in the epidemic.

(7) Ministries: Information and Communication, Health, Vietnam Television Station, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Vietnam News Agency, press agencies, and Provincial People's Committee continue to provide information about the epidemic situation so that the people can be vigilant and take strong measures to prevent and control the epidemic.

(8) The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control spends the necessary time directing the epidemic prevention and control work while promptly handling the recommendations of the local
