In Vietnam, do students supporting the fight against Covid-19 receive allowances?

Over time, thousands of students from Hai Duong University of Medical Technology, Hanoi Medical University, University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Thai Nguyen University), Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, Nam Dinh University of Nursing... arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai to participate in the fight against the pandemic. Are students participating in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic entitled to allowances?

According to Official Dispatch 6401/BYT-KHTC on the implementation of the spending regime for medical staff and volunteers to support provinces in the fight against COVID-19, the beneficiaries are entitled to allowances when participating in the prevention and control, include:

(1) Officials, public employees and health workers at public health facilities, agencies under and directly under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, ministries, branches and localities under the management of the Ministry of Health are sent to mobilize to participate to the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic in the provinces and centrally-run cities according to decisions of competent agencies.

(2) Students from universities, colleges and intermediate schools of health, volunteering to participate are sent to support the prevention and control of COVID-19 in provinces and cities under the Vietnamese Central Government according to the decision of the competent authority.

(3) People with medical expertise who do not receive salaries from the state budget and volunteer to participate may be sent to support the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government according to decisions of competent agencies. authorization.

Therefore, volunteer students from universities, colleges and intermediate schools of health majors sent to support COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control in provinces and cities directly under the Central Government according to the decision of the competent authority will be entitled to the allowance according to regulations.

In Section 3 of Official Dispatch 6401/BYT-KHTC stipulating the anti-epidemic allowance regime during the time of participating in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the provinces and centrally-run cities of the trainees and students are entitled to receive benefits applies as follows:

- Enjoy 300,000 VND/person/day when performing the tasks specified in Clause 1, Article 2 of Resolution 16/NQ-CP dated February 8, 2021

- Enjoy 200,000 VND/person/day when performing the tasks specified in Clause 2, Article 2 of Resolution 16/NQ-CP dated February 8, 2021.

- Enjoy 120,000 VND/person/day, including 80,000 VND for meals (according to the level specified in Clause 1, Article 2 of Resolution 16/NQ-CP ) and 40,000 VND for living needs (according to the prescribed rate). at point b, Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution 16/NQ-CP).

On the other hand, in Article 2 of Resolution 16/NQ-CP dated February 8, 2021 on expenses for medical isolation, medical examination and treatment and a number of specific regimes against COVID-19 pandemic, an allowance of 300,000 VND/person/day is applied to people who take samples, collect samples, separate samples, and people who directly test for SASR-CoV-2 at medical facilities.

In conclusion, students will be entitled to anti-epidemic allowances according to the above regulations when they participate in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
