According to Article 20 of the Residence Law 2020 , to import into Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City or other centrally run cities need to meet the following conditions:

- A citizen who has a lawful place of residence under his/her ownership may register for permanent residence in that lawful residence.

- Citizens may register for permanent residence at a lawful place of residence not under their ownership with the consent of the householder and the owner of such lawful residence in the following cases:

+ The wife returns to live with her husband; husband to live with his wife; children go to live with their parents; father and mother come to live with their children;

3. Procedures for permanent residence registration

Step 1 : The permanent resident registrant submits the permanent residence registration dossier to the residence registration office where he/she resides. (District and district police offices)

Step 2 : When receiving the application for permanent residence, the residence registration agency checks and issues the application receipt to the registrant; In case the application is not complete, the registrant will be guided to supplement the application.
