HOT: Multiple Fields and Activities in Ho Chi Minh City Continue to be Suspended from April 23, 2020

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 1490/UBND-VX on the continued implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control work in Ho Chi Minh City.

Based on the actual situation and results of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control efforts in the city, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city - Head of the city's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has requested to continue implementing epidemic prevention and control measures as directed by the Government of Vietnam, and guided by the health sector. To be specific: the following sectors will continue to suspend operations from April 23, 2020:

- Beauty salons, cosmetic surgery, spas, physiotherapy, massage, steam baths; recreational areas, entertainment venues, theaters, cinemas, wedding centers, dance halls, bars, karaoke, pubs, beer clubs, communal singing spots; electronic game business locations (internet, online gaming); indoor sports centers and gyms;

- Acceptance of new guests at lodging facilities operating under the Homestay, Airbnb models;

- Religious ceremonies, religious activities gathering 20 or more people at places of worship, belief, and temples; activities and meetings gathering more than 20 people;

- Gatherings of over 20 people in public places, outside of offices, schools, hospitals.

For sectors not mentioned above, they are permitted to operate and must strictly adhere to the regulations outlined in the Criterion for Evaluating the Level of Safe Operations in Covid-19 Epidemic Prevention issued by the state authority; under the management and supervision of functional agencies and local government authorities.

Additionally, state bodies and units will organize work as usual; ensuring strict adherence to epidemic prevention regulations for those coming to the office for work and contact. This includes sanitizing meeting rooms, disinfecting surfaces, and items touched by meeting attendees after each meeting. Promoting administrative procedures resolve online, via the postal system; applying information technology systems for online meetings and work exchanges.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also requires continued strict implementation of mask-wearing in public places and workplaces. Ensuring a minimum contact distance of 2 meters between people at public locations. Citizens are advised to limit going outside unless absolutely necessary.

The above-mentioned Covid-19 epidemic prevention measures will be applied from April 23, 2020, until new directives and guidelines are issued.
