Guidelines on Giving Tet 2018 Gifts to People with Meritorious Services issued by the President of Vietnam

Based on the gift standards in Decision 47/QD-CTN dated January 15, 2018 issued by the President of Vietnam regarding the Tet Nguyen Dan Mau Tuat 2018 gifts for individuals who have contributed to the revolution, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs provides the following guidances on receiving gifts:

Gift Amount Target Recipients Guidelines
400,000 VND People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution:

- Individuals who participated in revolutionary activities before January 01, 1945, and are currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Individuals who participated in revolutionary activities from January 01, 1945, to the August Revolution in 1945, and are currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Heroic Vietnamese Mothers currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor during the resistance period, currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- War invalids, individuals receiving policies akin to war invalids, class B war invalids, and sick soldiers with a labor capacity reduction of ≥ 81% currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Individuals involved in the resistance suffering from chemical poisoning, with a labor capacity reduction of ≥ 81% currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Individuals with meritorious services in assisting the revolution currently receiving monthly nurturing allowances.
Each person is entitled to receive only 01 gift from the President.


If an individual is eligible under two or more categories for both gift amounts, they will receive 01 gift with the highest amount. If eligible for the same gift amount, they will receive 01 gift of that amount.
Relatives of martyrs currently receiving monthly nurturing allowances; relatives of two or more martyrs currently receiving monthly death benefits
200,000 VND People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution:

- War invalids, individuals receiving policies akin to war invalids, class B war invalids, and sick soldiers with a labor capacity reduction of ≤ 80% currently receiving monthly preferential allowances; war invalids receiving labor loss policies;

- Individuals involved in the resistance suffering from chemical poisoning, with a labor capacity reduction of ≤ 80% currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Individuals participating in revolutionary activities or resistance activities who were imprisoned by the enemy and are currently receiving monthly preferential allowances;

- Individuals with meritorious services in assisting the revolution currently receiving monthly preferential allowances.
Each person is entitled to receive only 01 gift from the President.


If an individual is eligible under two or more categories for both gift amounts, they will receive 01 gift with the highest amount. If eligible for the same gift amount, they will receive 01 gift of that amount.
Representative of martyrs' relatives The representative of the martyrs’ relatives is the sole surviving member among all living relatives and is entitled to 01 gift.

If the representative of the martyrs' relatives is also a recipient of the 400,000 VND gift amount, delegate another surviving relative of the martyr to receive the 01 gift for the representative of the martyrs' relatives.

If the martyr's relative has only one surviving member who is also eligible for the 400,000 VND gift, that person will receive an additional 01 gift for the representative of the martyrs' relatives.

If two or more surviving relatives of the martyr are eligible for the 400,000 VND gift, designate one person to receive the 01 gift for the representative of the martyrs' relatives.
Person worshiping the martyr (in case the martyr has no surviving relatives) In cases where the martyr has no surviving relatives, the person worshiping the martyr is entitled to receive the President's gift. For each martyr, the person worshiping the martyr is entitled to receive 01 gift.
