1. Application dossiers for voluntary drug addiction in Vietnam

* Composition of the dossier includes:

+ The voluntary withdrawal registration form according to Form 22, Appendix II of Decree 116/2021/ND-CP;

+ A copy of the results of determining the drug addiction status of the competent authority;

+ A copy of one of the identification documents: citizen identification/ identity card, passport, birth certificate (for persons aged from 12 to under 18) of drug addicts.

2. Order of implementation of voluntary drug addiction registration in Vietnam

Step 1: Drug addicts and lawful representatives of drug addicts aged between full 12 and under 18 in Vietnam must prepare dossiers in accordance with law.

Step 2: Submit the dossier at the point of receipt of rehab registration of the commune-level People's Committee of the place of residence and present the original identity document for comparison.

Step 3: When receiving the dossier, the receiving agency shall check the legality and contents of the dossier:

+ In case the dossier is complete and valid, it is necessary to receive and appraise the dossier for rehab registration.

+ In case the dossier is eligible but not enough, the instructions for completing and supplementing the dossier shall be provided to the applicant.

Step 4: The addiction registration agency in Vietnam will appraise the dossier, the registrant will wait for the result of the dossier.

3. How to apply for voluntary drug addiction registration in Vietnam

Persons registered for drug addiction shall voluntarily submit their dossiers directly at the time of receiving the addiction registration of the commune-level People's Committee.

4. Time of receipt of voluntary drug addiction registration dossiers in Vietnam

Applicants for drug addiction voluntarily submit their dossiers on working hours from Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings (except for public holidays as prescribed by law).

5. Time limit for settlement of voluntary drug addiction registration dossiers in Vietnam

Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a complete and valid dossier, the receiving agency registering for voluntary drug withdrawal in Vietnam shall issue a decision on voluntary drug withdrawal in the family and community according to Form 24, Appendix II of Decree 116/2021/ND-CP to individuals, families of drug addicts, drug addiction service providers in the family, community and related organizations and individuals for implementation.

In case of decision not to allow voluntary drug withdrawal at home, the community of the receiving agency shall reply in writing and clearly state the reason.

6. Registration fee for voluntary drug addiction in Vietnam

Unsolicited drug addiction registrants do not have to pay fees.
