Accordingly, the Official Dispatch stated that the COVID-19 epidemic situation is complicated in localities across the country; the number of cases of COVID-19 has increased, especially in the period after the Lunar New Year; the majority of cases usually have no clinical symptoms or have mild symptoms, so they should be managed, isolated and monitored at home and place of residence (hereinafter referred to as F0 home management);

To strengthen the management of waste arising from F0 cases being managed at home, the Ministry of Health guides the classification, collection, transportation and treatment of waste as follows:

- Regarding waste classification:

+ Domestic waste generated from the isolation room of the F0 person being managed at home (including discarded linens and clothes) and the personal protective clothing and masks of the caregiver when in contact with Disposal of F0 is considered infectious waste and must be placed in a bag or bin lined with a bag, on the outside of the bag, the waste container has the words "HAWARE WASTE CONTAINING SARS-CoV-2".

+ Types of domestic waste arising from other areas of the house with F0 people: classify according to local guidelines to be treated according to regulations.

- Organize the collection, transportation and treatment of waste:

Arrange for people to collect bags and containers of infectious waste of F0 cases managed at home to bring to a place of storage and transfer to a suitable functional unit selected by the locality for treatment according to the regulations. regulation.

During the collection process, the waste bag must be tied tightly with the mouth of the bag, the waste container must be covered with a tight lid to ensure that the waste is not dropped or leaked, causing the spread of pathogens to the outside.

In addition, the Ministry of Health requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate in, directing and guiding units and localities to deploy solutions to enhance transportation and waste treatment in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. -19 ensures timely and safe prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

At the same time, coordinate with the People's Committee of the province to inspect the transportation and treatment of waste in the prevention and control of COVID-19 according to its competence; strictly handle violations.
