On May 16, 2017, the Ministry of Construction issued Circular 08/2017/TT-BXD providing specific guidance on the storage of construction solid waste.
Accordingly, Circular 08 stipulates that during construction activities, the waste source owner must arrange equipment or an area for storing construction and demolition waste (CDW) within the premises of the construction site or at a location specified by the local government. To be specific:
- The CDW storage location must be arranged in a place to avoid flooding or external rainwater intrusion, ensuring environmental hygiene around the storage area.- The equipment and CDW storage area must ensure no obstruction to traffic in the area and maintain urban aesthetics; information about the type of CDW must be written or labeled.- The CDW storage duration must be appropriate according to the characteristics of the waste type and the scale and storage capacity of the equipment and storage location.- Recyclable or reusable CDW types that have been sorted must be stored in separate equipment or storage areas.
