From May 8, all services except discotheque and karaoke services are allowed to operate

Here are the notable contents stipulated in Notice 177/TB-VPCP in 2020 on the conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government of Vietnam on COVID-19 prevention and control.

To be specific: After hearing the report from the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, a report from the Office of the Government of Vietnam, opinions from the Deputy Prime Ministers, and participants at the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam directed the implementation of easing restrictions as follows:

- Remove distancing and seat limitations on public transportation (airplanes, buses, ships, trains, etc.).

- Approve the reopening and removal of distancing regulations for production, business, trade, and service establishments with safety measures such as wearing masks and hand sanitizing; for service facilities like restaurants and eateries, only require hand sanitizing. Nightclubs and karaoke services are not yet allowed to reopen.

- Approve the organization of sports activities and activities with large gatherings with the requirement of implementing safety measures such as wearing masks and hand sanitizing.

- Approve the return to normal operations of medical examination and treatment facilities, ensuring the service of medical examination and treatment needs for the people.

- No mandatory distancing in schools and classrooms; students are not required to wear masks in classrooms. Schools should enhance measures to disinfect surfaces, clean classrooms, and restrooms, ensure well-ventilated rooms, and encourage students to maintain personal hygiene and regularly sanitize their hands.

The Ministry of Education and Training, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities must plan and organize the high school graduation exams well, ensuring truthful and objective results.

In addition to easing the above restrictions, some preventive measures will continue to be implemented alongside the restoration and development of the economy; from all levels, sectors to each individual, and enterprise must establish a new normal status in socio-economic activities to gradually bring society back to normal, focusing on promoting economic recovery activities.
