Below is notable content specified in Official Dispatch 1906/SGDDT-CTrTT dated July 26, 2020 of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city, Vietnam on urgently implementing measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic.
COVID-19: To officially suspend classes from 1:00 PM on July 26, 2020 in Da Nang, Vietnam (Internet image)
In accordance with the directive of the Da Nang People's Committee in Official Dispatch 4869/UBND-SYT dated July 26, 2020, on the urgent implementation of measures to prevent and control COVID-19, the Department of Education and Training of Vietnam has requested the heads of units and schools to promptly implement the following:
1. Time for suspension of classes
- Classes and all activities involving students in preschools, language centers, computer centers, study abroad counseling centers, talent and life skills centers, and additional tutoring centers will be suspended from 1:00 PM on July 26, 2020, until further notice.
- Private universities will make decisions regarding the gathering of students based on the actual situation and guidance from the competent authorities.
- To contribute to the city's comprehensive COVID-19 prevention efforts, the Department of Education and Training requests residential groups, local authorities, and the entire population to strengthen monitoring, processing, and reporting cases of violations of the above regulations to the Department of Education and Training and relevant agencies for timely coordination and handling.
2. Implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures
The heads of units and schools are responsible for thoroughly and strictly implementing Directive 19/CT-TTg dated April 24, 2020, of the Prime Minister on the further implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures in the new situation, as well as the guidance of the Department of Education and Training in Official Dispatch 1899/SGDDT-CTrTT dated July 24, 2020, on strengthening the implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures.
3. Regarding the organization of 2020's high school graduation examination
- The heads of examination centers are responsible for:
Continuing to strictly implement Section 6 of Official Dispatch 1899/SGDDT-CTrTT.
Arranging at least 02 backup rooms at each examination center and arranging desks ensuring distancing between the desks for candidates.
Working directly with the Deputy Head of the Center responsible for infrastructure to inspect and review all conditions to ensure the safety of invigilators, staff, and candidates.
Reporting on preparation, inspection, review, etc., to the Department of Education and Training before 2:00 PM on July 29, 2020.
- Principals of high schools and directors of continuing education centers have the responsibility to review the health status of all students participating in 2020's high school graduation examination. Reporting to the Department of Education and Training any cases of students with symptoms of fever, cough, or difficulty breathing before 10:00 AM on August 4, 2020 (received by Mr. Ngo Ngoc Hoang Vuong).
- The heads of units and schools should proactively be ready to mobilize all facilities to serve the high school graduation examination in 2020 when necessary.
4. Regarding private universities
Closely monitor the situation of staff, lecturers, and students from other provinces; closely inspect and supervise the activities of students; and advise students to strictly comply with the regulations on prevention and control of the epidemic.
5. Regarding monitoring and reporting
The heads of units and schools are responsible for regularly monitoring, reviewing, and understanding the situation of the staff, teachers, employees, students, and learners. Reporting to the Department of Education and Training any special situations (Mr. Ngo Ngoc Hoang Vuong, Head of the Political and Ideological Department) for timely coordination and guidance.
