(1) Allowances for reserve soldiers assigned to reserve units in Vietnam

- 160,000 VND/month for reserve officers assigned to reserve units.

- 320,000 VND/year for professional military reserves; non-commissioned officers and reserve soldiers have been assigned to reserve units.

(2) Responsibility allowance for reserve unit management in Vietnam

Reserve soldiers appointed as commanders of reserve units at squad level and equivalent or higher are entitled to the following allowances:

- 480,000 VND/quarter for Platoon Leaders, Battery Leaders and equivalent.

- 560,000 VND/quarter for Platoon Leaders and equivalent.

- 640,000 VND/quarter for Deputy Company Commanders, Deputy Company Commissar and equivalent.

- 720,000 VND/quarter for Company Commanders, Company Commissar and equivalent.

- 800,000 VND/quarter for Deputy Battalion Commander, Deputy Battalion Political Commissar and equivalent.

- 880,000 VND/quarter for Battalion Commanders, Battalion Political Commissar and equivalent.

- 960,000 VND/quarter for the Deputy Regiment Commander, Deputy Political Commissar of the regiment, and equivalent.

- 1,040,000 VND/quarter for Regimental Commanders, Regimental Commissars, and equivalent.

Conditions and duration of allowances in Vietnam

* For reserve officers who have been placed in a reserve unit and have been placed in a reserve unit for 15 days or more in a month, they are entitled to an allowance for that month; for less than 15 days in a month, that month is not entitled to benefits.

* For professional military reserves; Non-commissioned officers and reserve soldiers who have been placed in reserve units and have been placed in reserve units for 6 consecutive months or more are entitled to allowances for that year; less than 06 months in that year will not be entitled to benefits.

* For subjects specified in Section (2): performing management responsibilities of mobilization reserve units and having 45 days or more in a quarter, that quarter is entitled to allowances. During a quarter, reserve soldiers who are assigned to a new position will receive responsibility allowances according to the new position in the following quarter.

The period of allowance enjoyment for the above subjects is the period of time the reserve soldiers are placed in reserve units; reserve soldiers are appointed as commanders of reserve units.

Note: Subjects receiving the allowances specified in Section (2) will stop receiving the allowances in Section (1).

Allowance based on working days in Vietnam

Reserve soldiers specified in Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 79/2020/ND-CP who are not currently working, studying, working in agencies, organizations, or receiving money from the state budget are entitled to allowances based on working days specified in Point b, Clause 1, Article 30 of the Law on Reserve Forces and are implemented as follows:

- For reserve officers and reserve professional soldiers, the 1-day allowance is calculated as the current basic monthly salary of officers with the same military rank or the same level of active duty professional soldiers divided by 26 days.

- For non-commissioned officers and reserve soldiers, the allowance level per working day is calculated by the allowance level for non-commissioned officers and active-duty soldiers with the same military rank (excluding military allowances due to an extended active duty period). If the concentration period is from 05 days to 15 days, they will receive a 1/2 month allowance; if they stay for 16 to 31 days, they will receive a full-month's allowance; if they stay for more than 31 days, the allowance will continue to be paid as prescribed from the beginning.

- If the subjects specified in Clauses 1 and 2 of Article 4 of Decree 79/2020/ND-CP are sick or have accidents and go for medical examination and treatment, the time spent going for medical examination and treatment is entitled to an allowance based on the working day but does not exceed the time spent focusing on training, rehearsing, checking readiness for mobilization, and combat readiness and mobilization.

- The unit directly organizes training, drills, and checks on mobilization readiness, combat readiness, and mobilization to carry out tasks, paying benefits to the subjects specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 4 of Decree 79/2020/ND-CP.
