On April 13, 2018, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 52/2018/TT-BQP to repeal several legal documents on military and national defense.

Legal Documents on Military Service Obligations to be Annulled Include:
1. Decisions:
- 1738/QD-QP on the use of military personnel cards.- 2523/2000/QD-BQP regulating the selection and conscription of citizens into the service at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Guard Command.- 272/2003/QD-BQP regulating the selection and conscription of citizens into the 144th Brigade – General Staff and the 781 Ceremonial Unit of the Capital Military Region.- 146/2006/QD-BQP promulgating the list of commanding non-commissioned officers and specialized technical non-commissioned officers trained by the military in peacetime with a service duration of 24 months.- 142/2008/QD-BQP amending and supplementing certain articles of Decision 272/2003/QD-BQP.
2. Circulars, Joint Circulars:
- 175/2011/TTLT-BQP-BGDDT guiding the implementation of Decree 38/2007/ND-CP on postponement of conscription and exemption from conscription in peacetime.- 184/2011/TT-BQP listing the categories of citizens exempt from military service during wartime.- 1531/TT-QP guiding the work of the military service councils at all levels.- 07/2012/TT-BQP regulating the selection of citizens for separate conscription.- 13/2013/TTLT-BQP-BGDDT supplementing certain articles of Joint Circular 175/2011/TTLT-BQP-BGDDT.- 177/2013/TT-BQP regulating the management of personnel numbers in the People's Army of Vietnam (QDDNDVN).
3. Directives:
- 1104/1998/CT-BQP on strengthening the management of personnel numbers in the army.- 219/2005/CT-BQP on addressing certain matters to implement the amended and supplemented Law on Military Service 2005.
Circular 52/2018/TT-BQP also annuls various documents in other fields of the Ministry of National Defense.
