Law No. 12/2017/QH14 passed by the 14th National Assembly, 3rd session on June 20, 2017, officially takes effect from January 01, 2018.
amending, supplementing, and abolishing certain provisions of the 2015 Penal Code related to:
- Principles of handling persons who voluntarily surrender, confess, sincerely declare, denounce accomplices, make meritorious service to atone for their crimes, repent, and show remorse;- Classification of crimes committed by commercial legal entities;- Failing to report crimes;- Non-application of statute of limitations for sentence enforcement for crimes stipulated in Chapter XIII (Crimes against national security), Chapter XXVI (Crimes of sabotage of peace, against mankind and war crimes), Clauses 3 and 4 of Article 353 (Crime of embezzlement), Clauses 3 and 4 of Article 354 (Crime of receiving bribes).
