Only A4 Paper Size Shall be Used for All Types of Documents Starting March 05, 2020 in Vietnam

Below is one of the notable contents of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP on clerical work, effective from March 05, 2020, replacing Decree 110/2004/ND-CP and Decree 09/2010/ND-CP in Vietnam.

Previously, Circular 01 stipulated that administrative documents should be presented on A4-sized paper (210 mm x 297 mm). Documents such as introduction letters, receipt forms, dispatch forms, transfer forms were presented on A5-sized paper (148 mm x 210 mm) or on pre-printed form paper (A5 size).

However, from March 5, 2020, according to Decree 30, all kinds of administrative documents shall be uniformly presented on A4-sized paper (210mm x 297mm).

Documents are to be presented in the lengthwise orientation of A4 paper. If the content of the document includes tables or charts, and they are not to be made into separate appendices, the document can be presented in landscape orientation.

Additionally, Decree 30 also introduced changes in the abbreviation conventions for some types of documents compared to previous regulations. To be specific:

Moreover, from March 5, 2020, the capitalization conventions in administrative documents also underwent changes compared to the stipulations in Circular 01/2011/TT-BNV.
