Vietnam: Granting e-visas to citizens of 80 countries from July 01, 2020

This is a notable content of Resolution No. 79/NQ-CP on the list of countries whose citizens are eligible to apply for e-visa and the list of international border checkpoints that allow entry and exit of e-visa holders that was issued on May 25, 2020 by the Government of Vietnam.

Issued together with Resolution No. 79/NQ-CP of Vietnam’s Government is the list of 80 countries whose citizens are eligible to apply for e-visa according to Clause 10 Article 1 of the Law on Amendment to the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam dated November 25, 2019, which includes:

Granting e-visas to citizens of 80 countries is a step forward in applying information technology for administrative reform, promoting tourism development, and gradually restoring and boosting the domestic economy during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, this Resolution also specifies the list of international border checkpoints that allow entry and exit of e-visa holders, which includes 8 airports, 16 land border gates, and 13 sea border gates.
