According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 226/SGDDT-GDMNTH, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau states that in recent years, many parents have complained about the number of assignments that students have to complete during the Tet holiday. As a result, in order for students not to be concerned about the number of assignments due during the Tet holiday, the Department of Education and Training requires the Departments of Education and Training to direct schools under their jurisdiction to manage the following content:

- Starting from the Lunar New Year and the New Year of the Ox in 2021 onwards, teachers do not assign homework to students during the Tet holiday.

- The Lunar New Year holiday is a time for students to have the opportunity to experience and learn the beautiful and traditional customs of Tet. Let them have a Tet holiday to reunite with their families and have fun, play, rest comfortably, and ensure their safety and health.

- The teachers advise students and coordinate with parents, until the end of the Tet holiday (about 1-2 days left) to review the formulas and rules in the textbook and prepare the lesson well in advance before returning to school after the Tet holiday.

In addition, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, on the afternoon of January 31, 2021, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province said that it has been announced that all students in the area will be off for the Lunar New Year on February 2, 2021, 2 days earlier than planned. Students who have finished their vacation will return to school on February 18, 2021 (January 7). In particular, Phu My High School (Phu My town) has an F1 student who was on the same flight as a COVID-19 patient, so he will be absent from school from February 1, 2021.

During the Tet holiday, the department requires the units to advise students to play safely, ensure their health and follow the instructions of the health authorities on disease prevention and control.
