Vietnam: Education and training institutions in Ho Chi Minh City with safety levels below 30% are not eligible for educational activities

Recently, the Steering Committee for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Ho Chi Minh City has issued Decision 1371/QD-BCD on the set of criteria for evaluating safety in the Covid-19 prevention and control for preschool education institutions and general education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.

The set of criteria issued along with this Decision clearly outlines 10 criteria for assessing safety in COVID-19 prevention and control for each preschool and general education institution in Ho Chi Minh City.

The eligibility for educational activities of education and training institutions shall depend on the level of assessment of the Safety Criteria in COVID-19 prevention and control:

For preschool education institutions:

- From 90% to 100%: Very high safety level (Allowed to conduct child care and educational activities);

- From 70% to below 90%: High safety level (Allowed to conduct child care and educational activities, periodic checks required to address deficiencies in low-scoring sub-criteria);

- From 50% to below 70%: Medium safety level (May conduct child care and educational activities, but frequent checks required to address deficiencies in low-scoring sub-criteria);

- From 30% to below 50%: Low safety level (Ensuring safety solutions required before conducting child care and educational activities);- Below 30%: Very low safety level (Not allowed to conduct child care and educational activities).

For general education institutions:

- From 90% to 100%: Very high safety level (Allowed to conduct educational activities);

- From 70% to below 90%: High safety level (Allowed to conduct educational activities, periodic checks required to address deficiencies in low-scoring sub-criteria);

- From 50% to below 70%: Medium safety level (May conduct educational activities, but frequent checks required to address deficiencies in low-scoring sub-criteria);- From 30% to below 50%: Low safety level (Ensuring safety solutions required before conducting educational activities);

- Below 30%: Very low safety level (Not allowed to conduct educational activities).
