1. Teaching hour reduction regime for teachers who are concurrently performing professional jobs in Vietnam

The regime of reducing the teaching time limit for teachers who are concurrently performing professional jobs according to Article 8 of the Regulations promulgated together with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT (amended in Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT) as follows:

- Homeroom teachers at the primary level are entitled to a reduction of 3 periods/week, at the middle and high school levels, 4 periods/week are reduced.

- Homeroom teachers at ethnic minority boarding schools in middle and high schools are entitled to a reduction of 4 periods/week. Homeroom teachers at specialized schools and dayboarding schools are entitled to a reduction of 4 lessons/week. Homeroom teachers at schools and classes for the disabled are entitled to a reduction of 3 hours/week.

- The teacher in charge of the subject room is entitled to a three-period reduction per subject per week.

- Teachers who are in charge of cultural and physical activities of the whole school, in charge of school gardens, school workshops, equipment rooms, libraries (if these tasks do not have full-time staff) will be deducted from 2 - 3 hours/week depending on the workload and as decided by the principal.

- The head of the department is entitled to a reduction of 3 periods/week.

- The teacher-coordinator head of the university preparatory school's function department is entitled to a three-period weekly reduction.

Teachers cum deputy head of the university preparatory school's function department are entitled to a reduction of 1 hour/week.

2. Teaching hour reduction regime for other subjects in Vietnam

The mode of reducing the teaching time limit for other subjects of teachers according to Article 10 of the Regulations promulgated together with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT (amended in Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT) is as follows: :

- Teachers who are recruited by contract for the first time will be reduced by 2 hours/week.

- Female teachers with children aged 12 months or younger are entitled to a weekly reduction of three periods (high school and junior high school teachers) and four periods (elementary school teachers).

- Female teachers of pre-university schools with children from 12 months or less, 3 hours a week will be reduced.

3. Teacher's lesson norms in Vietnam

According to Article 6 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT (amended in Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT) regulations on the teaching time limit of teachers are as follows:

- The norm for primary school teachers is 23 hours, junior high school teachers are 19 hours, high school teachers are 17 hours;

- The norm for teachers of boarding schools for ethnic minorities is 17 periods at the lower secondary level, 15 periods at the upper secondary school level;

The norm of teaching hours for teachers of a semi-boarding high school for ethnic minorities is 21 periods at the primary level, 17 periods at the lower secondary level;

- The norm for the teaching period of a university preparatory school teacher is 12 hours.

The norm of teaching hours for school teachers, classes for the disabled and disabled is 21 hours for teachers at the primary level, 17 hours for teachers at the lower secondary level.

- The teacher who is in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, Grade I schools teach 2 lessons a week, Grade II schools teach 1/3 of the lesson norm, Grade III schools teach 1/2 of the lesson norm of teachers of the same grade. The classification of high schools according to current regulations.
